Chocolate Overnight Oats

This is a great little recipe for those who are in a rush in the morning but still want a healthy and filling breakfast that isn’t flavourless! This takes just a few minutes to prepare and is left in the fridge overnight. All you need in the morning is a spoon and you are ready to go.

What you will need:

  • Container
  • ½ cup Porridge oats
  • 1 tablespoon Cocoa powder
  • Squirt of Runny honey
  • 1 teaspoon Vanilla extract
  • ½ cup Low fat milk

Method:

Measure your oats and put into a container along with cocoa powder.

Mix together dry ingredients.

Next add in the milk, vanilla, and honey.

Mix all together and place in the fridge.

The mixture will look watery like this but overnight the oats will soak up the liquid.

Leave over night for at least 8 hours.

If this is too thick in the morning you can add a little more milk but I love it how it is!

This is so simple and cheap. Perfect way to have a nice breakfast without spending time in the morning or spending too much money on overpriced breakfasts!

Hope you enjoy this recipe and let me know if you make it! You can add whatever else you like to this in the morning like fresh berries or yoghurt.

I tried this recipe because I wanted to add more oats into my diet which are so good for you. I spoke more about my diet change in a previous post. Let me know if you want to hear more about it.
